Clean Sweap - update

I know you're not holding you breathes waiting to hear that my house is spotless and without clutter . . . but an update would inform you that several boxes exited the house some for the garbage and other for the Good Will or Domestic Abuse Shelter . . . and then life intruded . . . but yesterday I heard that Oprah had some organizer on and he had a way to clean out your house by May . . . . take two garbage bags each day . . . one for garbage and one for donations and fill them up and then deposit them in their appropriate locations outside your home . . . .if it was daily I think I'd be cleaned out by mid-January or February . . . . I think I'll try a weekly two bags as see how it goes . . . see it I can get some momentum going . . . I also heard a wonderful statement while dying silk his weekend with others . . . one woman said she wouldn't mind cleaning house if she didn't have to do it again . . . . amen . . . . isn't that the truth . .
Closing with hope and a dust pan . . .R

A Social Life Cubed

Social networking . . . this has been an interesting experience . . . I'm a little intimidated to put a lot of personal information out there on the web . . . but finding that you can protect the information and only allow specific people to access it is very comforting . . .and I was amazed that by putting in the schools you've attended you can find people . . . I notices a high school class mate on the list and think I may ask him to be a firend as I have a lot of questions about happening there and he is married to one of my best high school friend . . . what a small world . . . we'll see how this expands and takes flight or plummets and waddles off . . .what a whole new world is opening up and I see how circles of friends can be expanded exponentially and also how information can be so readily shared . . . which could be an assess for a library .. . being an information center . . .as the days go by . . . I should have more to say/add/subtract . . . .
From my cube(icle) . . . . for now . . .R

Google Docs

This was an interesting exercise but very frustrating for me as I use graphic programs daily and am used to more fonts, being able to change templates, and personalize everything I write or create . . . I made two different documents one using a template and one not and shared them with others . . . the first one I hope for responses from and it will be interesting to see what changes they make to the original document. . . . . this exercise also got me out of my comfort zone of looking for familiar buttons, etc. to sent/share items . . . I had to ask others about the hows and whys but all became clear after a lot of trial and error . . . I hope I have time to do some more of these . . .the day is coming to a close and I have several more things to do not on the computer . . . Good night and save travels to all

The Puppy Whisperer . . . . . too cute to miss

This was shown on Good Morning America last week and Katherine told us about it . . . . what a wonderful video to see . . . . I had a hard time telling what he was singing . . .. but was told it is Goodnight Sweetheart . . . enjoy ...

It's taken me a bit to learn how to add this to my blog but with the expert help of Ali . . . I've learned a lot and hopefully will retain it . . . with everything else going on . . . I'm not sure how all this could be incorporated into my library work but as I use it more and play with it I may find ways to connect with the digital world out there and as more and more people are online via computer, ipods, etc. . . . we may have to reach beyond the digital divide . . . perhaps that term has more than one meaning these days . . . . those who do and don't have digital opportunities . . . . and those who are digitally adept and connected and those who are less than connected although computer literate . . . that will take some thinking

Thanks to Ali and the crew here I'm on to the next lesson . . .

Flikring out !!!

Now that I've hung around in Flikr for days or more viewing, exploring, making cards and letters to Santa, etc. . . . I figure I'd better get on to the next lesson . . . it was interesting to listen on MPR about the flikr images posted during the terrorist attack in Mumbai last week and how (to their credit) some waited to post photos for an hour or more so as not to aid the terrorists, and others chose not to post photos of those injured or dead out of respect for them . . . What a global community we have . . . and well plugged in . . .

RSS and more

RSS feeds are interesting and save time but personally I find I don't have time for even a feed as I'm up and down, back and forth and busy with other parts of my job. I think that patrons might find information about the library - its programs, changes, closing (in case of weather) very usefull it this had computers up and had a blogfeed open most of the time . . . or if a blogline was advertised and kept current. It's a thought during the fall and winter as weather is or can be a challenge. Finding feeds . . . . I'm not sure I have this down . . .although following your directions I have several feeds but finding them?? . . . . I need more practice. . . . more in a bit . . . as 5 approaches. . . .

Lost in a Flickr

It's been some time since I've added anything to my blog and I've been stuck on the Flickr lesson for some time. I understand how it works and have looked at tons of photos. Perhaps it's time to move on. More awaits me in the coming lessons . . . . I think perhaps I need to do this in a more structured way. . . .

Flickr-ing out for now.
