4 Gales Virtual Reference

What an amazing list of resources .. I looked up National Survey of State Laws . . . .real estate law and adverse possession . . .it was very thorough and informative . . . . Then I did a basic search for foods with zinc in them and was not very successful . . .although I learned a lot about zinc and it's effects on the body and the lack of zinc or zinc deficiencies . . .

Hi, bookarts! You're right, there's a resource here for any field. We hope this resource expands your print reference collection, and patrons can access it from home 24/7. In the case of foods with zinc, a search of just "zinc" yields lots of results. The top one, from the Gale Encyclopedia of Nursing & Allied Health, tells us that "Oysters are tremendously high in zinc. Some sources, such as whole grains, beans, and nuts, have good zinc content but the fiber in these foods prevents it from being absorbed well. Foods with zinc that is better utilized include beef, chicken, turkey, milk, cheese, and yogurt. Pure maple syrup also is a good dose of zinc." General searches seem to work better than more specific ones in this resource, and it gives you suggestions for narrowing the topic on the left sidebar. Now, let's go get some pancakes doused in maple syrup!
